Archaeological digs are strange, exciting adventures. Sometimes you find dinosaur bones, other times you find one of George Washington's horses' horseshoes, and other times you find things like old bottlecaps, golf balls, and the remnants of your sandbox.
But today, my lovely friend Sophia (hey there!!) found her third grade (that's year 4 for you British peeps, and I was 8 for all you other peeps) Coke Or Pepsi book. If you didn't know, Coke Or Pepsi was THE THING in my New Jersey elementary school. Girls would go around at lunch yelling "DOGS OR CATS? GIRLY OR TOMBOY?" at their friends, and if you weren't asked, you were a total loser. Anyway, my answers really said a lot about me then. I don't really know how this alternative rock obsession happened, but I know I was a lot different then. Here are my answers. What r your top 3 fave bands? 1. All Star Weekend 2. Big Time Rush 3. Selena and the Scene What r your top five fave songs? Come Down With Love is perfect to dance to. Play My Music is great to sing with. Dynamite has the coolest lyrics. A Different Side of Me has awesome music. Firework is the best overall song. Who r u dying to see in concert? No one. Hottest female singer? Me! Concert in a: [x] Big Stadium [] Cool Dance Club [] Small Intimate Club What's On Ur Playlist? [x] rock [x] pop [] alternative [] country [] dance [x] rap/hip hop [] other Best Performer Look: [] jeans and a t-shirt [x] super glam [] anything with a cowboy hat Coolest Lyrics From A Song? ? Franz Ferdinand 2. Weezer 3. The Strokes What r your top five fave songs? Ever? Stand On The Horizon - Franz Ferdinand (I love the message), El Scorcho - Weezer (it's really cute and brings back good memories), When You Were Young - The Killers (I used to relate to it but I actually love the song), You Only Live Once - The Strokes (again, I really like the message), Jump Into The Fog - The Wombats (it has a sense of adventure and curiosity) Who r u dying to see in concert? TOO MANY BANDS, TBH. The Killers, The Strokes, The Wombats, Passion Pit, Franz Ferdinand, Phoenix, Blur, Phantom Planet (I know they broke up, ok? Concert in a: [] Big Stadium [] Cool Dance Club [x] Small Intimate Club What's On Ur Playlist? [x] rock [] pop [x] alternative [] country [] dance [] rap/hip hop [x] other (I have some electronic stuff from my EDM phase in sixth grade. it's mostly stuff off MonsterCat, Daft Punk's songs with Julian Casablancas and Panda Bear, a couple Justice songs, etc) Best Performer Look: [x] jeans and a t-shirt [] super glam [] anything with a cowboy hat Coolest Lyrics From A Song? the point of living is to live (Stand On The Horizon - Franz Ferdinand) Last Album Bought: [x]( Weezer)The White Album - Weezer [] I don't buy ENTIRE albums! I NEVER like all of the songs. Just when I was about to give up on past me, though, I found my Puppy Or Kitten book, which said that my favorite song was Magic by B.O.B and Rivers Cuomo! Yeah, Rivers Cuomo! The lead singer of Weezer, who I've met and seen in concert. At least I have some faith in past me. When I was in third grade, I hadn't even heard my first Weezer song yet. Apparently, at a school dance, Third Grade Liah would also prefer a live band over a DJ, and would also ask her crush out instead of waiting. I also would either want to be the lead singer or guitarist. In that sense, not much has changed. Third Grade Liah also apparently loved the spotlight and would rather be able to dance than play an instrument. Also, I would have named my band "The Hot Tigers." Maybe more has changed than I thought. Yeah. A lot has changed, and definitely in a good way.

I know this is pointless, because I just started this entire blogging thing last night, but I've learned a lot this summer, and I want to share that with all of you.
First of all, be confident. If you email a record label about making a video and your idea was shut down, don't give up on it. Elaborate and film your own video with your best friends, and leave the record label knowing what they missed out on. Second of all, let yourself not be taken seriously. Make sure to act like a professional. If you pretend you know what you're doing, you probably will have it all under control in a few days, or weeks, or whatever. That's all I really have for now. Those two pieces of advice are basically my life mottos, and I really want others to know how I got to where I am now. Anyway, have a nice month or so. I'll be back with another one of these later. Last month, Alli and I went to our first concert together, Panic! At The Disco and Weezer. Most of the hype there was for Panic!, who I love dearly, but I am and always have been a huge Weezer fan. After Panic! At The Disco's set, a whole bunch of the emo teenagers (rawr!) went home to post to their tumblrs about it. Alli had lawn seats with her family, and since my tickets were a birthday present, I had 5th row. Security was checking everyone's tickets, so my dad told me to stay where I was, and took my ticket to go find Alli.
And then Weezer went on. They launched these giant beach balls into the crowd during their opening song, California Kids, and luckily I managed to avoid them until the end of the song. But then Hash Pipe started, and the entire venue lost it. I mean, LOST IT. I was texting Alli frantic messages of "omg where r u" and "WEEZER ARE ON GET OVER HERE," but tragically, they didn't go through. I was alone. I was trying to switch between raving to Hash Pipe and singing along and texting Alli to "get over here NOW omg where are you??????" when I was nailed in the face by a giant, presumably beer covered beach ball. I'm 5'4" and weigh 113 pounds. That beach ball knocked me over, not even kidding. I'm pretty sure I was crying while singing along to Hash Pipe. The next song was My Name Is Jonas, which I'm not too familiar with, so it was the perfect time for a full blown panic attack, apparently. I couldn't go tell security (not that I would want to!), because my dad had my ticket, and if they didn't kick me out, my spot would have been stolen. So I waited, and just hoped that somehow Rivers, Brian, Pat, and Scott could save me using the power of rock. Luckily, Alli showed up right at the beginning of If You're Wondering If I Want You To (I Want You To), and the rest of the concert was amazing. Long story short, no concert is good without a crazy concert story. Hi. I'm Liah. I could make myself sound a billion times more interesting, but I guess I'll just do this.
