I know this article pretty much already happened but I want to go more in-depth about what exactly I'm so excited for in 2017. Pretty much every band I listen to (that hasn't broken up of course) has an album coming, has an album planned, or has a spot at an amazing festival.
Let's get into who exactly these bands are.

Sorry for being missing in action for nearly two months now. My life's been crazy busy. Sadly I haven't been out launching fireworks and playing Pokémon Go (and getting run over by a Zamboni in Sam's Club), but I think there will be more of that soon. Let's have a little Q&A. Earlier this year you said 2017 would be 'the next 2013.' Why?It's all about who's releasing albums. I think the big ones for me were Phoenix and Franz Ferdinand. Then Daft Punk made their comeback and like fifteen albums from other bands were announced, which reminds me of the great musical Renaissance that was 2013. Which albums are you the most excited for? This is a tricky one. I have to say I'm the most excited for Maximo Park. They've been sounding really good lately. I think I might do an article on how losing bassist Archis Tiku from their lineup changed their sound, but it'll be tricky since I'm pretty sure their sound just evolved on its own. "But Liah, you're a Franz stan! Why aren't you excited for their album?" Okay, you got me. Technically I'm not stanning the new Franz Ferdinand album. I know I'm probably going to like it, considering I've liked nearly everything they've done, but there are a few bands associated with Franz Ferdinand whose albums I'm seriously excited for. These bands are BNQT and Manuela. BNQT's first single, Restart, is probably one of the best songs that has come out this year. I can't wait to hear the rest of their stuff!! Manuela is the most relationship goals band EVER and I'm really excited to listen to their debut album!! Everything they've released so far has been totally cool and their music videos have been awesome. (hey Sausage Squad, come to New York if you have a chance, we can hang out) And even though nothing's been confirmed, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Phoenix and Daft Punk are up to. What's this Pizza Party thing you've been talking about? It's our upcoming(?) podcast/game show where we invite a band to our (still nonexistent) studio and eat pizza and play some party games and do an interview. More details on it later. (hey if you're a band and want to eat pizza and play games with us please shoot us an email) That's all.I'm working on a few new articles and I'll definitely get started on some more! Happy reading!
See you soon. I Liah, was once well known as a hater of classic rock. Fascinating, isn't it, seeing how far I've come?
It all started when I wrote an essay on how Indian music shaped the British Invasion. Actually, wait a sec. It started before then. |
About The AuthorLiah is a high school senior who plays guitar and loves the color yellow. She doesn't post much, but when she does, it's awesome. We promise.
