I am a person who loves memes. I am also a person who loves music. In addition, I am a person who loves making fun of Coachella. I recently discovered the 'Coachella Lineup meme' so I'm going to take a look at a few and give my opinion. (if your meme is in this article and you want it out, just shoot us an email or a tweet. we'll get it out of here faster than you can say 'GovBall is better than Coachella'.) The 'Minor Throwback' LineupThis lineup looks like a 90s-2000s train (ha) wreck that you would've gone to in 2007. I have to say, though, maybe the creator of this meme has a plan. It could work, especially with High School Musical On Ice and John Cena on the lineup. The 'Pop Culture (And History?) Mashup' LineupThis one is honestly a festival I would go to. I'd make sure to see The Beach Boys standing on stage looking sad, the US Olympic rowing team, that entire punk debate happening, over 3000 versions of Hallelujah, someone's dad, Abraham Lincoln, and hey, even Satan. This is an A+ lineup. The Meme LineupI'd go to this. I'd make sure to see everyone. Honestly. This is something I'm into. Dadchella...?At least they have Jimmy Kimmel... Right? Flavortown.I'd go, honestly. The Dream LineupIf I could take my sixth grade self to see Daft Punk and seventh grade self to see Franz Ferdinand... This is honestly one of the best dream lineups I've ever seen. Luckily, we're getting Phoenix and Franz together at GovBall this year, so at least we have that. But The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Bloc Party... I need to stop thinking about this. I need to calm down. Just a question, though: Would Daft Punk have to rebuild the Pyramid for every gig they play? That's all.Yep, you made it. I've been obsessed with festival lineups lately since I might be going to GovBall this year, and it has a pretty amazing lineup: So, yeah. I'm really excited if I end up going, and if not, I expect high quality videos of Franz, Cage The Elephant, Saint Motel, and Phoenix that I can watch and cry over. Another killer lineup I've seen floating around is for Hangout, which would honestly be my first choice of festivals to go to this summer, but it's in Alabama while GovBall is in NYC. In addition to Franz, Mac Demarco, and The Strumbellas, who are playing GovBall, Hangout has Weezer, MGMT, Young The Giant, Band Of Horses, Andrew McMahon In The Wilderness, and even Mumford And Sons, who I'm not the biggest fan of (their latest album was pretty good though).
Alabama, why must you be so far away?! Anyway, wanderlust aside, I'm really excited to see Phoenix's revival (ha) and how Franz are live without Nick. Maybe I'll even stick around for some other gigs than the ones I mentioned too! See you next time, when I hopefully have GovBall tickets.
